Cowdray Ruins, Cowdray Park

The most recognised landmark of Midhurst is the Cowdray Ruins - the former home of the Montague family. Built in 1542, it was then largely destroyed by fire in 1793.

Cowdray is managed by Cowdray Heritage Trust which was set up by the current Viscount Cowdray to secure a future for the Cowdray Ruins. Cowdray is open to the public from 17th March for the 2010 season, from Wednesday to Sunday and Bank holidays. Cowdray is open all year round for groups and school visits.

For further information please click here for the Cowdray Heritage Trust website including a virtual tour of Cowdray Ruins and visitor information.

The Cowdray Heritage Trust can be contacted directly via e-mail info@cowdray.org.uk or by telephoning 01730 810781
