The Cowdray Park Academy

The aim of the Cowdray Park Academy is to help you enjoy the game by making the most of your natural ability. We have a great team of professionals, with first class facilities and we have designed programmes to suit everyone (many incorporating our famous 19th Hole!).

We now employ other PGA professionals to assist our current professional, Scott Brown, in providing a more comprehensive teaching service at the Club. We also have much improved facilities including the new practice green and bunker which, as well as the par 3 course, are fully irrigated to ensure we maintain a good quality of presentation.

The first new professional you see is Michael Barton. A highly experienced and successful teaching pro who also enjoyed a fine record in amateur golf before spending three years on the European tour (but not quite so successfully!) Mike is at the club 2/3 days per week depending on demand and will be offering an introductory package of 3 individual half hour lessons for £60. Kate Dawkins continues to work on Sundays with the ladies and junior girls but is also available for individual private lessons.

The Basics. Whatever stage your golf is at, you must have the basics right. Have a review of your whole game and discuss with your instructor the strategy for future improvement.

30 minute lesson - £25.00

The Group Lesson. A great way to learn and improve - get a few friends together and book a group lesson - maximum 6.

1 hour lesson - £45.00

The Playing Lesson with your professional instructor. A great combination, of playing our beautiful course and receiving tuition along the way. Go back and play that tricky pitch as often as you like! Maximum 3 players.

The Improver Package is an ideal way to ensure that your progress is steady as it is a combination of tuition, practise and play.

Golf in a Day - maximum 6 players - guaranteed to be fun and a great chance to learn the basics and then try them out on the course.

Itinerary:

10am - Coffee and bacon rolls - meet the professional
10.30-12.30 - An introduction to the basics of playing the game and
what the clubs are meant to do for you.
12.30 - Light buffet lunch served in the clubhouse
1.30-3pm - More practise and a chance to try chipping and putting
3pm - Afternoon tea before the big game!
3.30pm - A chance to play 4 holes with your instructor
