Gorwydd Caerphilly

Gorwydd Caerphilly is our cheese of the month for August.

This award winning aged cow’s milk cheese from Somerset is made by Todd, his brother Maugan and sister-in-law Kim Trethowan at Trethowans Dairy. They follow a traditional recipe by working the curds by hand. Caerphilly takes its name from a small town in the South of Wales, in the west of the British Isles. The cheeses are matured for a minimum of two months to give a fresh, creamy clean tasting flavour. Flavours closer to the rind are more mushroomy and savoury in character. Do have a taster of this delicious cheese when you are next passing the Deli.
