Special Offer – Summer in the South Downs

Three regionally recognised attractions have joined forces this summer to bring visitors a bargain way of enjoying the South Downs during the holiday season. Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre, Cowdray Heritage Trust, Midhurst, and WWT Arundel Wetland Centre have devised a scheme where visitors paying full price at one attraction benefit from discounts when they visit the other two.

This simple idea is designed to encourage more visitors to attractions within the South Downs during a time when people are looking to save money.   Each venue offers a slightly different incentive, and it does not matter which attraction is visited first.  Normal ticket prices are paid at the first venue to be visited, where visitors then receive a voucher entitling them to discounts when visiting the other two.  Historic Cowdray offers half price entry for all, which means a saving of up to £3.25 for a single ticket and £8 for a family of five. Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre offers a discounted rate of £6 per person, making a saving of up to £3.80 per person.  At the Arundel Wetland Centre, one adult is admitted free with a paying adult, a saving of up to 25 percent off for a family of four.  Under 4’s gain free entry at Amberley and Arundel, while under 5’s go free at Cowdray.

“Families are finding it hard to justify spending on days out, yet there are a wealth of low-cost, high quality attractions in the South Downs area to be explored,” explained Amberley’s Marketing and Events Co-ordinator, Ally Davies.  “The three venues got together and decided to try a simple incentive, which we hope will inspire both local residents and visitors to the South Downs.  If people go to all three attractions, they will experience a wide range of entertainment – from Tudor noblemen and the Gunpowder Plot to vintage transport and social history, via wildlife and the countryside.  There are some amazing days out to be had right on our doorstep, and this scheme should help those families who are thinking of planning low-cost fun in the summer holidays.”

The Summer in the South Downs scheme runs throughout August to the end of September in all three attractions.

To participate in the offer, simply come to one of the three attractions and pay full price for your tickets.  You will be given a postcard to take to the other two attractions which should be offered to the ticket desk on arrival.  Each attraction’s offer is different, so do read the details on the postcard carefully.

We hope you will enjoy the discounts!  If you have any queries, please phone the Cowdray Heritage Trust during opening hours on 01730 810781.
