British Luxury Media Showcase

Cowdray’s Director of Events Iain Beaumont and Sales and Business Development Manager Guy Pridie swapped Cowdray House for New York last week. (Tuesday 23rd – Thursday 25th October) This is the second year in a row that Cowdray have attended the Walpole US Trade Delegation and British Luxury Media Showcase. Walpole has been the official home of British Luxury for more than 25 years, Walpole represents over 250 of the UK’s finest Brands.

The trip began with an Insights Briefing morning held at J.P.Morgans’ Private Client Offices followed by a lunch at Hearst Tower with Glenda Bailey OBE, the editor-in-chief of US Harper’s Bazaar – who was recognised for her incredible contribution and support of British Luxury Overseas.

The iconic Spring Studios was the venue for a drinks reception and panel discussion on British Luxury. Speakers included Andreas Neophytou, ECD Spring Studios; Helen Brocklebank, CEO Walpole; Mark Johnson, CEO Molton Brown and Mark Harvey, MD Chapel Down. The evening discussion as moderated by James Fallon from WWD.

Day two consisted of a private tour at department store; Bergdorf Goodman followed by commercial meetings at The Glasshouses and the opportunity to set up ahead of the Luxury Media Showcase. The evening came to a close with a special dinner at the fabulous, Belmond 21 Club to promote British Luxury.

The final day of the trip started with a British Luxury Media Breakfast, a round-table discussion, featuring a specially-commissioned report from Brand Finance looking at the latest insights and trends in the world of British Luxury.

The British Luxury Media Showcase commenced at 9am, also held at The Glasshouses, an impressive event space in Chelsea, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the New York skyline. Cowdray was one of the 17 brands who joined this year’s delegation.
