In the centre of Midhurst

A versatile wedding venue & event space

Capron House is one of the most established West Sussex wedding venues. An attractive and familiar landmark in the centre of Midhurst with three large rooms for hire and a wonderful walled private garden.

The building has a civil wedding ceremony licence and can host small or larger ceremonies, of up to 80 people, in the Cowdray Room, Garden Room or Pearson Room. The building is also suitable for other events including, parties, meetings and conferences. The venue has a traditional charm and can be hired at a rate for half day or a full day.

The grand front porch leads into an impressive entrance hall with a carved staircase, huge stained glass window and chandelier above. The beautiful garden is large enough for a marquee or just as a delightful additional seating area for guests. Parking for guests is in the main town car park (pay and display) opposite the building.

Artwork by

Alister Maynard

Artwork by Viscountess Cowdray's grandfather, Alister Maynard, MBE, (1903-1976) is on display at Capron House.
A period spent in the Army in India inspired many of his paintings and drawings. Much of his work was sold but the remaining collection belonging to the family remained hidden inside a trunk at Cowdray House for the past 40 years.
