Autumn Yoga Day Retreat

The remedy to the modern life, Hannah Pocket’s day retreats at Cowdray Hall give you the opportunity to step out of your routine, reset and refresh.

Spend a beautiful autumn day in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Just over an hour from South West London, yet feels a world away from the city, space to reconnect with yourself and nature.

Yoga will take place in a spacious hall with an impressive vaulted ceiling and a gorgeous parquet floor. The big windows flood the room with natural light and central heating will keep us cosy. We will start the day with a playful Hatha Vinyasa Flow followed by breathwork and meditation. At lunchtime a family style sharing feast will be provided by The Yellow Kitchen. You can then choose to rest in the hall, mooch around the farm shop and local village or join our guided walk around the stunning Estate to take in the autumn colours, the Queen Elizabeth Oak and Cowdray ruins. In the afternoon we will light the candles for yin yoga, guided relaxation and head massage.

This day retreat is open to all levels, everybody welcome.

10:30 | Welcome tea

11:00 | Morning hatha vinyasa yoga
Our morning practice will focus on strengthening the back-body and opening up the chest and shoulders. This creative sequence of heart openers will encourage you to flow with your breath – warming the body – as well as giving you time to pause and work more deeply into peak poses.

12:30 | Meditation and breathwork

13:00 | Lunch
A family style sharing feast will be provided by The Yellow Kitchen – Serving the best local and Estate-sourced produce where possible.

14:00 | Walk or rest
Join our guided walk around the Estate, mooch around the farm shop and local village, or relax with a cup of tea, reading, journaling, or snoozing!

15:30 | Afternoon yoga: Candlelit yin yoga This mediative practice is profoundly relaxing and nourishing for the body and mind. We will slow right down and sink into a series of long hold, floor based poses. Gravity will gently guide you deep into your connective tissue and fascia, unravelling hidden areas of tension. Hands on adjustments and massage, will be offered throughout to help you relax.

16:45 | The ultimate shavasana
Calming breathwork, guided meditation and intention setting, yoga nidra, head massage with Neil’s Yard Bee Lovely Lotion.

17:30 | End of retreat

*Yoga mats, cushions and blankets will be provided. You are welcome to bring any additional props.
