SUMMARY:Family Foraging at Cowdray
DESCRIPTION:Join George in this fun and immersive tour of the Cowdray Estate. \nKids of all ages are encouraged to interact with and learn a bunch of brilliant wild foods\, medicines and their histories. Teach your family how to survive stings with plant plasters and herbs to heal cuts and grazes. George joyfully weaves a native through the hedgerows and fields bringing to life to the common species that make up our gardens and walks. Guests get to see how we can safely delve into this world with curiosity\, care and caution to keep us and the environment happy and healthy. \nWalks will be circular\, beginning and ending at Cowdray Farm Shop Cafe. \nPlease wear footwear that is suitable for undulating terrain. \n\nMeet George\, Cowdray’s Forager:\nGeorge has been foraging and using wild foods for some years\, supplying the freshest foraged wild edibles to some of the country’s top restaurants\, chefs and food establishments. \nAfter years of being immersed in the ‘wild’ himself\, George now focuses on encouraging others to appreciate the significance of our native countryside\, and how we can enjoy and protect it for future generations. \nOver his years of foraging George has accrued an in-depth knowledge of our countryside\, its diverse habitats and the variety of plants and fungi each contains. He has covered the length and breadth of the country from the Scottish Highlands to the moors and coasts of Cornwall\, in search of new native edibles as well as sustainable sources to pick them. Working closely with chefs consulting on what\, when and how to use each ingredient to best showcase them has led George to be featured on programmes like BBC’s Saturday Kitchen\, following the journey from the forests and fields to fork. George now hopes to inspire you on your own adventure of discovery.

SUMMARY:Run the Seasons Spring Race 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Run the Seasons Spring Run is on a stunning course which heads out to Ambersham & Heyshott Common. \nThe commons are sites of Special Scientific Interest and Grade 2 Nature Conservation site. Both are mainly heathland with a wide range of invertebrates\, including three nationally rare species. In fact\, this habitat is rarer than a Rain Forest! \nThis really is a stunning landscape and course which you’re unlikely to find anywhere else in the UK. Even though you might not notice a Dartford Warbler\, Tree Pipit\, Woodlark\, Hobby or Stonechat\, rest assured you’re in for a treat ‘out on the common’.  There will be a mix of great trails\, some firm\, some wet and quite a few sandy areas which makes this area unique. Runners will have the choice of taking on either a 5km *\, 10km\, 10 miles or dog-friendly course across the stunning grounds of Cowdray Estate and the South Downs National Park. Don’t underestimate the course\, it’s nowhere near as tough as previous runs at Bexley Hill\, but it’s still a good challenge and the ground conditions will take their toll. \nWhy not enter the 10km run series for a chance to be crowned male or female series winners and be presented with a luxury hamper from Cowdray Farm Shop & Café.  Overall winners will be decided on a points system based on their finishing position with their top three results counting towards the series 10km races. \n* Only the 10 mile and 10km runs explore Ambersham and Heyshott Commons. \nSign up here and join us for a beautiful morning run as we enter Spring!
