Living History Day

Cowdray Heritage Trust

Join us for an exciting day of ‘Living History’ on the lawn in front of Cowdray Heritage.

Step back in time as you meet re-enactors in Medieval dress, watch a knight’s foot tournament and see birds of prey. Listen to stories and fables by the storyteller. Take part in have-a-go activities and crafts including crown and shield making along with drop-in wicker workshops.

Guided-tours of the ancient Tudor Kitchen, (one of the finest remaining examples of a Tudor kitchen), and the Tower Room will be running at certain times during the day. These tours give an insight into what life was like for those who lived and worked at Cowdray before the devastating fire of 1793.

Tour numbers will be limited and subject to availability. Children must be accompanied.

This event takes place on the front lawn; there is no access to the rest of the site. Free parking on the edge of the polo pitches a short walk from the Heritage Site. A marshall will be on duty to direct you. Please park as directed.

This will be a fabulous day out for the whole family to enjoy.
