Sound Bath & Guided Meditation by Candlelight

Join me at Cowdray Hall, a deeply atmospheric and dramatically charming space, perfectly suited to the immersive nature of a sound bath.

You’ll be guided through a calming sound journey designed to support relaxation, grounding and overall wellbeing. Using a carefully woven blend of Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, gong and chimes, I create a therapeutic soundscape that encourages the body and mind to slow, soften and settle.

Sound healing works through both auditory input and vibration. The vibrations produced by instruments such as singing bowls and gongs travel through the body’s tissues and fluids, stimulating the vagus nerve and supporting the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of the nervous system responsible for rest, digestion and repair. This can help reduce stress responses, lower muscle tension and support a sense of internal safety.

Studies into sound and music therapy show that sustained tones and rhythmic sound can encourage the brain to shift from faster beta brainwaves (associated with alertness and stress) into slower alpha and theta states, which are linked to deep relaxation, meditation and improved emotional regulation. In these states, the body is better able to rebalance itself naturally, without conscious effort.

The session begins with a guided meditation by candlelight, allowing you to arrive fully and settle into the experience with confidence and ease. The sound bath should be viewed as an invitation to try a nourishing way of caring for your wellbeing. Each session is accessible to everyone, with no previous experience required.

For comfort, please bring a pillow, one or two warm blankets, warm socks, an eye covering and water. Staying warm and supported is an important part of the experience, so feel free to bring anything else that helps you feel cosy. Yoga mats will be provided.
