Christmas Tree Replanting

Got Roots?

Give your Christmas tree the gift of life this year. If you have a potted Christmas tree with roots, then they can be replanted on the Cowdray Estate and live a long and happy life in the woods. This is a new environmental initiative launched by our team of foresters to save unwanted Christmas trees. The trees cannot be returned but will develop into mature, flourishing trees.

What to do?

If you have removed the Christmas decorations and are now unsure what to do with your tree, please bring it to the Works Department (GU29 9BN) from Monday 4th January. Located off Easebourne Lane in Midhurst, the trees can be left in a designated, signed area during working hours – 9am to 4pm.

Sustainable Woodland

Over 50,000 trees are planted every year on the Estate to include 11 different species. The woods at Cowdray are managed under a long-term plan which ensures that a sustainable yield of timber is harvested. Everything that is harvested is replanted to protect the local wildlife and to conserve the environment.
