Sussex Food Shop of the Year

Our Farm Shop was a winner at Wednesday evening’s Sussex Food and Drink Awards which took place at the Amex stadium in Brighton. An absolutely fantastic result!

General Manager, Rupert Titchmarsh and Shop Manager, Esme Westcott-White received the award for ‘Sussex Food Shop of the Year’ from Sally Gunnell OBE. The judges were looking for an excellent food outlet which is creative in its approach to customers, offers a good range of local produce and has business principles that support local produce.

Both Rupert and Esme were interviewed on stage by BBC Sussex’s Danny Pike who also rang the following day to speak to Rupert. Their conversation was transmitted live on BBC Sussex Radio.

Rupert Titchmarsh commented “We are absolutely thrilled to win this award. The standard of all the grand finalists was so incredibly high this year and we feel extremely proud to have won. On behalf of the team here in the shop I’d like to thank everyone who helped us come out as winners – we really value your support. I’d also like to thank our suppliers and our dedicated shop team who have worked so hard to put Cowdray on the map as a fine food destination.”

Our trophy is now proudly displayed on the deli counter in the shop.
