Cowdray Park Golf Club is looking to recruit a First Assistant Greenkeeper to join our existing dedicated team. This is a great opportunity for a qualified greenkeeper who is looking to advance their career.

The successful candidate will contribute to the maintenance and development of the golf course, practice facilities and the communal areas and will be involved in various project work.

We are seeking a First Assistant Greenkeeper who has a positive attitude with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and progress their continuing professional development.

Overview

Cowdray Park Golf Club is an 18 hole course is located in Midhurst, West Sussex, close to Surrey & Hampshire borders.

Golf has been played on our scenic course for well over a century. Its combination of sandy soil with the latest irrigation and sprinkler systems, means superb conditions can be maintained even in wet weather making it a true all year round course.

The club is a proprietary business with membership at the core. Its key aim is to combine excellent facilities with friendly service and a warm welcome to all.

Applicants should possess or be working towards the following qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certificates
  • Chainsaw license

And be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 5 years golf course experience
  • Knowledge in the use and maintenance of all greenkeeping equipment
  • Being an honest team player
  • Strong attention to detail in presentation and health and safety
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • An ability to problem solve and make effective decisions
  • A full and clean UK driving license
  • Being a keen golfer is desirable
