Cowdray Park Polo Club

Cowdray Park Polo Club is often described as the Jewel in the Crown of the Cowdray Estate. For the last century, Cowdray Park has been at the forefront of profiessional polo in the UK and internationally. Competitive polo has been played at Cowdray since 1910, when it was founded as a small country club by the Pearson family.

Cowdray has been at the heart of the English summer season for over a century. It hosts the internationally famous Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championship. Polo teams from around the world flock to Cowdray to participate. The Gold Cup is one of the most important events on the British social calendar and attracts the largest single polo audience in the United Kingdom.

The King Power Official Gold Cup is underway and in line with other elite sports it will be played strictly behind closed doors with no spectator access allowed. Cowdray Polo Club are live-streaming all games via Cowdray TV, meaning you can stay up to date with the latest scores and news from the comfort of your home.

Welcoming Spectators

The public are welcome to watch polo at Cowdray throughout the season. Tickets can be bought at the entrance gates to the grounds, week days are free. Spectators are welcome to bring their own picnics and enjoy an afternoon of polo in our glorious grounds in West Sussex.

King Power Gold Cup

The Gold Cup is played to decide the British Open Polo Championship and is the premier polo tournament in the world at 22 goal level. With all the international stars of the game in action in the incomparable setting of Cowdray Park’s ‘Lawns’, the event draws polo fans from across the globe.

Social Membership

As well as welcoming back existing members, Cowdray Park Polo Club also welcomes those who are new to the world of polo. Membership includes complimentary access to over 400 matches throughout the season, including the coveted Gold Cup Semi Finals and Final in July.

A part of polo's history

In 1953, Cowdray Park played host to the first Coronation Cup where teams from the UK, USA, Argentina and Chile competed and the finals drew a crowd of more than 10,000 people including the HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

Cowdray Park Polo Academy

The Polo Academy provides a platform enabling new players to step into the very heart of the sport following instruction by leading professional coaches and players. The Academy aims to take new players to instructional chukka level after just 10 hours of private lessons
