A three day extensive gut health focused retreat at Cowdray House

Perfectly timed to reset your body ready for the summer months, Cowdray’s Gut Health Retreat will offer a bespoke, transformative gut and lifestyle overhaul which is designed to change habits indefinitely putting you on course for a healthier future.This will be a three-day gut health focused programme hosting just 10 guests, with personalised classes and workshops throughout with the aim of making sure that guests leave feeling nourished, revitalised and rejuvenated.

What does a gut health retreat involve?

Day one:

– Welcome introduction and meet the Cowdray Retreat Team
– A guided walk to discover your beautiful surroundings, or take a swim in the indoor or outdoor heated pool
– Change and Empowerment Workshop
– Pre supper drinks and a presentation by Nicola Russell, Nutritional Therapist
– Sound Bath in the spectacular Buck Hall

Day two:

– Personal trainer available throughout the day to take you through core functional exercises
– Cookery demonstration: learn how to cook quick and easy gut healthy meals
– Plenty of time to explore the grounds or take a swim
– Pre supper drinks and a presentation by Nicola Russell, Nutritional Therapist
– Candlelit Yoga

Day Three:

– Cookery demonstration: learn to make your own gut friendly sauerkraut to take home
– Wim Hof Method Workshop, be guided through breath work, mindset and cold exposure. Take a plunge in the ice bath at the end, if you wish.
– Pre supper drinks on the picturesque front terrace if weather permits
– Guests can enjoy the indoor ten pin bowling alley or a game of billiards

Throughout the retreat guests will enjoy a detoxifying and nourishing menu curated for optimal gut health by our Executive Chef Ben Jupp, in consultation with Nicola Russell. Gut friendly meals using, where possible, locally sourced organic produce with a strong emphasis on a low FODMAP Diet.

Cowdray’s talented Executive Chef Ben Jupp has worked for the Estate for over 14 years. He now oversees catering events across Cowdray including heading up the Yellow Kitchen, the in-house catering team. Under Ben’s guidance the menus across the Estate have been developed to celebrate the best of seasonal, local British produce.
