Prepared by our team of pastry chefs at The Walled Garden, The Yellow Kitchen Afternoon Tea follows the traditional combination of sweet and savoury, using locally sourced ingredients, reflective of the season. Available to book on select dates between May and August; best enjoyed in even numbers and must be booked in advance.

Beekeeping Experience

Five of our hives across Cowdray are tended to by a small team of volunteer apiarists comprised of Estate staff. The bees foraging on a diverse mix of flora and fauna which influences the colour and consistency of the honey.

Learn all about the fascinating world of bees with our Estate expert on an interactive and educational private beekeeping experience on an area of the Estate not usually accessible to the public. An experience not to be missed; must be pre-booked.

Cowdray's Maize Maze

Cowdray’s Maze Maize is a fun challenge for the whole family! Learn about farming at Cowdray, along with the incredible animals that make all the difference. Young maze-goers will be given our Maize Maze stamp sheet to collect eight hidden stamps as they weave their way through the trail.

Cowdray Park Polo Club

Cowdray has been at the heart of the English polo for over a century, hosting the famous Gold Cup for the British Open Polo Championship, with polo teams from around the world flocking to Cowdray to participate. The season runs from April through to September, with matches regularly held.

Foraging

Join Cowdray’s Forager George Linklater on a journey across the Estate and learn the art of foraging as you discover the vast range of wild edibles growing all around us. Book either a private walk or join one of our ticketed walks and workshops held throughout the year.

Forest Bathing

Practice the art of Shinrin-Yoku, the Japanese art of Forest Bathing, with Helena Skoog. A profound antidote to anxiety, depression, fear and tension, guests will be taken to a private area of the Estate not ordinarily accessible to the public to enjoy an immersive experience.

Polo Academy

Learn to play the Game of Kings at Cowdray’s Polo Academy. All lessons are bespoke and where appropriate will include an introduction to the game at the ‘Home of British Polo’, a hitting lesson on foot, learning to ride ‘polo style’ on a horse, before combining these elements to stick and ball.

Shooting at Hownhall

Enjoy shooting at award-winning Shooting School, Hownhall. Set in a beautiful woodland setting, with exceptional layouts, the school’s ethos is to provide expert tuition on all levels, ensuring a memorable experience.
