The Town Meadow Enhancement Plan

The Town Meadow Enhancement Plan is an exciting project to provide vital river and habitat restoration which can be enjoyed by both the local community and visitors to the area through improved access.

WELCOME TO COWDRAY

Cowdray is an exceptional area of West Sussex, nestled beneath the South Downs in the heart of the National Park.  The Estate has been in our family for generations and is not only the place we are lucky enough to call home, it is also an area we are delighted to be able to share with you.

Marina and I are passionate about holistic management; from the environmentally focussed approach to the management of the land to the development of our wellbeing centre, our local Estate produce available at the Farm Shop and Café to Cowdray’s diverse sporting and leisure opportunities, and experiences across the Estate, it gives us great pleasure to share all that Cowdray has to offer on so many levels.

We strive to invest in our surrounding for future generations and we hope you will treasure Cowdray as we do.

Cowdray Deer Manager

Jason Griffin

Cowdray Deer Manager

Deer on the Estate are naturally managed by Jason Griffin. If left at unsustainable numbers, the local Fallow and Roe deer are detrimental to many of the enterprises across the Estate. The forequarters are more likely to be used for burgers or the very popular Cowdray venison sausages.

Property Maintenance

Works Department

Cowdray has its own building and maintenance department which refurbishes and maintains many of the properties on the Estate.

Keeping the Estate Tidy

Parks & Gardens

We take care to ensure the public areas of the Estate are presentable and well maintained. Our Parks and Gardens team manage this activity.

Filming and stills

Cowdray has a wide range of locations for filming and stills. From the magnificent Cowdray House, with its stunning gardens, to a disused Quarry and Limeworks. Cowdray Heritage offers picturesque ruins, a vaulted wine cellar and a Tudor kitchen.
